How can I start a School Ski Team?
There are several ways that this can be done, one way is here. Sometimes a school have no teacher with the time or interest to do this and it then falls to enthusiastic parents. Once up and running however, the school are often keen to become involved.
Where can our team train?
Training ca be run year round at various indoor and dry slope facilities within the UK, Landgraaf in the Netherlands (500m long indoor slope) and in the alps. BISS can organise all of this with your team, using qualified, experienced and insured coaches.
What events can we attend?
There are a plethora of events to attend, both in the UK and the alps. We can help with selection of teams for these events and also training at the events themselves. We have listed some of these events below.
UK events
Caxton FX ISA Indoor Championships – Usually in April at The Snowcentre, Hemel Hempstead- open to all schools
Caxton FX British Independent Schools Ski Racing Indoor Championships – September at The Snowcentre, Hemel Hempstead – Open to all schools
ESSKIA Regional events – Various dry slope venues. Possibly leading onto national events. Schools must be members of ESSKIA
BISS League events – April to June at The Snowcentre, Hemel Hempstead, Open to all schools

ISSSC – December, Les Deux Alpes, France – Independent Schools Only
British Schoolboys Races – January, Meiringen, Switzerland – Open to all schools
British Schoolgirls Races – January, Flaine, France -Open to all schools
British Independent Schools Ski Racing Alpine Championships – Feb/March. Pila, Italy – Open to all schools
Interschools Challenge – March. Les Houches, France – Open to all schools
Aiglon Cup – March. Pillars, Switzerland – Open to all schools
